Riazanifker Benevolent Association?

Post by h.kronstadt cooper » 30 Jun 2003, 06:27

Am researching my husband's grandfather's family, Cooper (may have been Kuper at one time, not sure as yet), and my husband remembers only that his grandfather was a member of a "RIAZANIFKER" landsmanschaften, possibly the above named B.A. in NY. Does anyone know what town/village this group could possibly be related to? Have had trouble finding any reference to such a name on JewishGen and other sites as far as shtetls go. Husband says he always thought that the place was close to Kiev but can't be sure. No living relatives, that we know of, to ask. Please help if you can! thanks!

re RIAZANIFKER landsmanschaften

New York City Library has all kinds of landsmanschaften lists. You might be able to find geographical info there???

PS>I am still out of town on business, so my time is limited. When I get back, I will take a closer look @Riazanifker.
