I am seeking information about the Vittes family. I am not sure where the family came from so this is a stab in the dark. Hyam/Chaim Vittes came to the US in late 1800's, early 1900, and settled in Delaware. He was my mother's grandfather.

I am a current resident and citizen of Australia, but was born in the italian city of Trieste on july 8 1944, my father was Bruno Viti, formerly Bruno Vittes (the family name was changed by the fascist regime in about the year 1938 or so, and hence since that time, our family has carried the italian equivalent ? of Viti. I know little or nothing of the history of our name, but any information that i can receive from whoever, will be gratefully appreciated.
