The Beryoza district consists of the city of Bereza (Beryozovsky district council), the city of regional subordination of Beloozersk (Beloozersky city council) and 11 village councils:
- Berezovsky Village Council - 10 villages
- Zditovsky village council - 1 agricultural town, 7 villages
- Malechsky Village Council - 2 agricultural towns, 14 villages
- Mezhdulessky Village Council - 1 agricultural town, 7 villages
- Pervomaysky Village Council - 2 agricultural towns, 6 villages
- Peskovsky village council - 1 agricultural town, 8 villages
- Seletsky village council - 2 agricultural towns, 14 villages
- Signevichsky Village Council - 4 agricultural towns, 16 villages
- Sokolovsky Village Council - 1 agricultural town, 4 villages
- Sporovsky Village Council - 1 agricultural town, 1 village
- Striginsky Village Council - 8 villages
In total, there are 109 settlements in the Berezovsky district (according to data of 2016).
The population of the district is 63,710 people (as of January 1, 2016), including 41,876 people living in urban conditions.
The area of the district is about 1412 km2. The area of forests is 330 km2, the area of lakes and rivers is 100 km2, and 700 km2 is occupied by farmland.
History of Beryoza Region
- It was founded on January 15, 1940 as part of the Brest region of the BSSR.
- On December 12, 1940, it was divided into 18 village councils: Olshevsky, Bludensky, Vysokovsky, Zditovsky, Kabakovsky, Moshkovichsky, Mezhdulesky, Narutovichsky, Peskovsky, Peshkovsky, Ravyatichsky, Sokolovsky, Samoilovichsky, Soshytsky, Signevichsky, Sovinsky, Seletsky, Uglyansky.
- On July 16, 1954, the Moshkovichsky, Narutovichsky, Ravyatichsky, Soshitsky Village Councils were abolished, the Olshevsky Village Council was renamed to Nivkovsky, the Vysokovsky Village Council to Peresudovichsky, Peshkovsky to Borkovsky, Sovinsky to Striginsky.
- On January 12, 1960, the Nivkovsky Village Council was abolished, and the workers' settlement Beryozovsky was formed.
- On April 14, 1960, the Malechsky and Podkraevichsky village councils of the Pruzhany district were added to the district.
- On June 25, 1960, the working village of Beryozovsky was renamed to Beloozersk.
- On January 21, 1961, the Podkraevichsky Village Council was abolished.
- On December 25, 1962, the Obrovsky, Bytensky, Busyazhsky, Belavichsky, Vereshkovsky, Volkovsky, Dobromyslensky, Domanovsky, Dolgovsky, Zhitlinsky, Kozikovsky, Kushnerovsky, Lyubishitsky, Svyatovolsky, Staykovsky, Yaglevichsky village councils, and the urban settlement of Ivatsevichi and the town of Kossovo of abolished Ivatsevichi district were added to the Beryoza district.
- On April 14, 1964, the Osovets Village Council was formed, the Samoilovichi Village Council was renamed to Berezovsky, and the Kabakovsky Village Council was abolished.
- On August 1, 1964, the Bludensky village council was renamed to Pervomaisky.
- On January 6, 1965, Obrovsky, Bytensky, Busyazhsky, Belavichsky, Vereshkovsky, Volkovsky, Dobromyslensky, Domanovsky, Dolgovsky, Zhitlinsky, Kozikovsky, Kushnerovsky, Lyubishitsky, Svyatovolsky, Staykovsky, Yaglevichsky village councils, and the urban settlement of Ivatsevichi and the town of Kossovo were returned to Ivatsevichi district.
- On September 16, 1970, the workers' settlement Beloozersk received the status of a city of regional subordination.
- On March 15, 1971, the Beloozersky Village Council was formed.
- On November 21, 1977, the Osovetsky Village Council was renamed to Narutovichsky, Peresudovichsky to Vysokovsky.
- On January 18, 1988, the Zditovsky Village Council was renamed to Sporovsky, the Uglyansky Village Council was renamed to Zditovsky.
- On February 26, 2002, the Vysokovsky Village Council was abolished.
- On September 17, 2013, the Beloozersky, Borkovsky and Narutovichsky village councils were abolished.
