Hello

During last war, my father was in Stalag II b in Hammerstein.
He met a woman . And he had a child with this woman
At the end of the war in 1945, he came back in France. And he never return in that country
A few time before his death, he told me about his story during this period of war.
I have some pictures, names and addresses.
I would like to find this brother and may be, his descendants.
Is it possible to help me ?

Name and adress noted by my father during the war (1939-1945)
Brycz Nadzia
Wies Hoszewo
G... Chomsk
Previat Drohir

Thanks very much for any help

Yvette

Hello,

Chomsk - it's a Polish spelling of the village of Khomsk (/map.php?name=Khomsk&id=1482&lng=en) in Drogichin district.
Wies Hoszewo - the village of Goshevo (/map.php?name=Goshevo&id=1472&lng=en), it's located in 2 km to the South of Khomsk.

It seems Brycz (or Brich) is a quite popular surname in that area. I've tried to search 'Брич' in one of the social networks. And I've found 64 persons with this surname living in Drogichin.

It is difficult for me to search because the words are different, depending of the language .
Now I know where is the village !
Where do you find the list of 64 persons living in Drogichin ? Can you send me the link ?

The child is born probably in Poland near the stalag of Hammerstein or the farm where the woman (Brycz Nadzia) was working.
I don't know if he is male or female, if he has the same name than his mother
Do you know where children born in these conditions were listed ?

Thank you for your help

I've searched on ok.ru
But you have to be registered.
I'll try to send this information to all of them.

I just noticed that I can add an image.
Here is the document that I found and which was brought back by my father at the end of the war.
The woman's address is indicated on this paper
Did I understand the address correctly?

It's Polish spelling. Yes, you understand it correctly:
Brysz Nadzia - Brich Nadia
Wies. Hoszewo - wies. is abbreviation of 'wieska' - village Goshevo
Gmina Chomsk - (gmina - the smallest administrative unit at that time) - Khomsk area
Powiat Drohiczen - Drogichin district.

Yvette, Happy New Year!

I've sent messages to all of people with surname Brich. All responses are like 'This story is not about my family'.
And I have got one response from family whose father was born in Goshevo. They promised to ask all relatives and try to find any information about it.

I was reading again my first message
In fact, the baby was probably born in 1945 just at the end of war, after my father departure.
He never returned and he never had news, so he never knew if the baby was a boy or a girl.
In my first message, I wrote "brother", may be it is a sister !!

I found a document indicating that during his captivity my father worked on a farm located in Gresonse near Flatow (German names).
(in Polish today: Stare Dzierzazno near Zlotow)
I think he knew N Brycz on this farm (some photos seem to have been taken in this place) ,but I dont know where the baby is born

I've got replies from several Brich families. But they didn't find any information about it yet.
I'm sorry.
